The Secret Diary of a Bengali Newlywed is on pre-order!

Hello! How are you? I hope April is treating you well and if you’re fasting, I hope that’s going well, too! I’ve been a little quiet on here, but I’ve not forgotten about Halimabobs.com, I’ve just been crazy busy with home life (2 under four isn’t easy!), and my writing. But I’ve got some very exciting news to update you on that front… 

Book 3 is coming out!

This deserves a post in itself, but for now I just want to let you know that the third novel in my Secret series, The Secret Diary of a Bengali Newlywed is on pre-order!

It will be coming out on May 3, but you can pre-order it now on any store of your choice here. Early readers have said this is the strongest yet, as I delve deeper into issues such as race and identity, but of course the trademark humour is still there! 

What’s more exciting is that I’m revamping the whole series with new covers! So as you can see below, The Secret Diary of the Bengali Newlywed has taken on a whole new aesthetic…

I adore this new cover! It’s fun, fresh, but still depicts the quirks of the book. I have to give a big shoutout to my amazingly talented cover designer, Felix Diaz de Escauriaza, who brought my vision to life. You can see more of his work here.

I won a writing scholarship!

I have won a scholarship from the prestigious Self Publishing Formula SPF foundation. I’m one of nine winners out of 300 applicants across the globe. It’s a huge validation for me. As you may have seen from previous posts, I’m mum to a four-year-old and a two-year-old, so life is pretty full with taking care of them. Any writing work is currently squeezed around them, which means that inevitably impostor syndrome creeps in and I sometimes wonder whether my words are up to par. Having an organisation tell me they are, brings me huge joy and inspires me to write even more books that challenge misconceptions and help entertain readers. As a result of my will, I am stepping up my writing game, starting with a new covers and also doing more marketing. Speaking of which, have you seen me on TikTok? He is one of my videos, I think you’ll like it.

Meanwhile, I’ve been garnering PR coverage for my writing, Including a full page spread in Good Housekeeping magazine and a commissioned article for the Metro which talks all about the arranged marriage process.

So that’s a short and sweet update from me, but rest assured you’ll be hearing from me again very soon.
