Inexpensive meaningful christmas gift ideas for 2020
Christmas gift guide 2020 – inexpensive meaningful Christmas gift ideas that are not just for Christmas
Let’s face it, for most people this Christmas will be different. The world is different (thank you, Covid). That’s why I wanted this change to be reflected in my Christmas gift guide.
Instead of a lengthy shopping list which many can’t afford right now, I wanted to focus on a few key things to bring some cheer.
As with all my gift guides and reviews, each and every item on this list has been reviewed by me, whether I’ve bought it myself, gifted it to someone, or been sent it as a press sample.
With Covid changing our very existent, the focus of this year’s Christmas gift ideas is on meaningful, long-lasting gifts. There are things that help the environment, budget buys to help you save, and Christmas gifts that can be used way beyond Christmas.
As a bonus, each Christmas gift idea detailed is under £50.
So in no particular order, here’s my inexpensive meaningful Christmas gift ideas guide that’s not just for Christmas:
One of the positives that came with the first lockdown was that animals felt free to roam the world we share as the roads and skies were less polluted. We humans also embraced the outdoors more as our usual haunts were out of bounds.
As a mum, I’ve taken a great interest in nature and I love the fact that my daughter will look for worms and snails in the garden and watch them with wonder.
Whether you’ve got kids or not, if you’re trying to introduce nature to your garden, how about a bird feeder?
This Henry Bell bird feeder comes with four feeders, a bird bath, and a seed tray. So far, we’ve spotted magpies and pigeons, and I’m holding out for a Robin red breast. You can get the Henry Bell bird feeder here.
Bonds Australia Christmas Wondersuit
Christmas jumpers and reindeer baby grows are great. But novelty clothes can’t really be worn outside the Christmas holidays. Bonds Australia has the solution. Its gorgeous baby grows, with their unique two-way zip and foldable mittens and feet covering, are a firm favourite in our house. What’s more, they have a gorgeous festive star print design which is perfect for Christmas and all year round.
With us staying in more, our love of literature has resurfaced. So how about a break from Netflix and a book to read? What’s more, as well as being able to buy through the convenience of Amazon, bookshops.org has been set up to support local booksellers. You can check it out, along with my current reading below:
While we’re talking books, can I be shamefully pluggy? My award-winning book promises to make you laugh, though you may cry a bit, too. One reviewer commented that the Ben Affleck line was one of the funniest things she read. Intrigued? You can get it on Amazon here, or bookshop.org.
With all those books, you might need a light to go with it, especially if your reading activity takes place when the kids are asleep, like me. Here’s a book light suggestion.
I just love Not on the High Street. Ever since I attended their Christmas in July event way back when, I’ve been discovering a few gems. And here’s a couple:
Personalised Lavender grow your own kit – I got this personalised for a friend recently and she loved it. It’s such a thoughtful gift.
Personalised birthstone necklace – Hubby got me this for my birthday, and it contains the birthstones of me, him, and our babies.
Yep, I’m weaning again. And no, Baby Bjorn don’t just make slings. If you’re in the same boat or gifting a new mum, this baby Bjorn dinner set is just gorgeous. It’s BPA free, hard wearing and built to last. Plus, with its pearl trim collar bib and decanter style cup, it really is baby goals. Get it here. Oh, and I hope you like the photobombing hand!
I’ve reviewed the Dr Paw Paw lip and cheek tints here, so I won’t labour the point, except to say they are fab and really do help add some polish when you’re in a rush. Which is me, everyday. As I demonstrated in my video try-on review, all the shades are incredibly wearable and flattering for brown skin tones. In this honest video review I’m not wearing any makeup and I’m trialling:
- Dr.PAWPAW Tinted Ultimate Red Balm
- Dr. PAWPAW Hot Pink Balm
- Outrageous Orange Balm
- Dr. PAWPAW Tinted Peach Pink Balm
- Dr. PAWPAW Rich Mocha Balm
Neveo family journal app
Do you remember life before digital cameras? When we’d take photos, wait for them to be developed and put them in an album? I miss those days and am sad to say most of my photos don’t ever leave my phone. However, now I’m a mum of two, I’m making an effort to create more albums. Neveo family album is an online app which enables you to create an album / journal of photos and captions which can be posted out to your loved ones. I think nothing is more lovely for 2020 than this.
