St Ives blogger comp –and the winner is(n’t) me…

In my last post I mentioned how I entered a photography competition ran by St Ives, in which we bloggers were tasked to capture natural beauty.  Anyway, the long and short of it is that I didn’t win.  However, I made the final ten, so I got to attend a fab event ran by St Ives which showcased all our artwork on canvasses, and I got to take my handiwork home.
The event itself was held at the Hospital Club in Central London.  From the name of the venue, I wasn’t
too optimistic, however, I was surprised upon arrival.  For those of you who haven’t been, it’s a very fancy private members club and creative arts venue, so it was perfect for the event I attended.
Anyway, the competition was judged by beauty photographer Claire Harrison, who was in fact a very nice lady as well as a great photographer.
The St Ives crew certainly pulled the stops out, offering manicures, creating bespoke cupcakes with the images of the finalists, as well as Apricot cocktails.  They even threw together a mocktail just for me.
Here are some more snaps from the event…

I didn’t manage to get a picture of the winning canvass (not that I’m bitter or anything), but I can tell you it was a beautifully shot photo of a beautiful girl, so I guess my sunshine through the trees couldn’t
really compete.  However, I can’t help but think my luck would have been better had I submitted this guy…
