Now, I’ve not been blogging as regularly of late, but for those who don’t already know, I can assure you there is very good reason.
Having just got engaged, I’m now in full wedding planning mode. And I’m a freaking Asian bridezilla.
With not long to go until the big event, I’m in a daze of bridal shopping, bridal makeovers (see my bridal MUA rundown here), and scary bridal facials (you can read my viral article on my controversial facial here). Can you spot a trend?
Amongst all this madness, I’ll be blogging my usual rants and reviews, but in between I may sneak in the odd wedding-related post.
Rest assured, this won’t be changing to a wedding planning or fashion blog anytime soon,
(there are already some blogs out there that are doing a great job of this), but I may occasionally mix it up a bit.
I’ve got a list as long as my arm of outstanding reviews, so there’s lots of fun to come, but if I am a bit slow due to extenuating circumstances, please forgive me.
Just as a taster, here’s what’s been consuming me of late:
I bought the saree above from Alankar. For those who don’t know, Alankar is the main saree boutique in Manchester, and is something of a brand in the city/region.
As a result, their prices are almost criminal.
But with a little haggling, threatening to leave, and downright cheekiness, you can leave with a beautiful saree without having to OD all your credit cards.
I’m going to be living there over the next few weeks.
The picture above says it all – *nomnomnom*
Yes, the all-important lenghas. I’ve been drooling over a number on the web, but now I’m dizzy. After all, you’ve seen one sparkly fishtail…
Makeovers and make up artists
My skin is currently being ravaged by all manner of make up artists in my quest to find my perfect MUA.
From works of art, hidden charges to plain cheekiness, I’ll share what’s good and not so good about hiring and MUA, and any tips I pick up.
So keep reading for more of this and my usual reviews and views. Oh, and if I haven’t updated for a while, feel free to kick me twitter or facebook.
I’m a British-Bengali Muslim mum-of-two. My pictures aren’t filtered and neither are my words. I’m not a makeup artist, chef or lifestyle guru. I’m just me, sharing honest beauty reviews for brown skin, halal restaurant finds, travel inspo, mum life hacks, easy Bengali recipes and more. If that’s your bag, keep reading!
