St Pierre Brioche bagel – a UK first

I don’t get out much these days. Having moved back up north, and now a mum to a two-year-old and five-year-old, the days of endless restaurant reviews and blogging events seem long gone (to see my bygone-era of eating my way through London and Manchester, click here).

However, I broke the trend recently by visiting Almost Famous in Manchester, where I got to sample the UK’s first brioche bagel from St Pierre, at the UK’s first Burgel Bar! The chicken burger was halal, so I couldn’t say no!

Anyway, the burgel was amazing, with the buttermilk chicken complementing the lightly sweetened brioche bagel.

My plus one and I left with a bag full of more brioche-based produce then I thought we could handle.

I was wrong, though. My kids and I have managed to chow through the brioche sub rolls (a lunchtime winner) and the vanilla tear and share never really stood a chance. Once I paired it with fresh cream and jam, it was demolished.

So thank you to the lovely team at St Pierre UK for the invite. It was an evening well spent.
