Easy breadcrumb-free no-fry fishcake recipe
Easy breadcrumb-free no-fry recipe fishcake
This recipe saves so much time and effort and requires minimal basic ingredients. I first came up with it when weaning my daughter and quickly realised it makes for a great grown-up snack too. Especially spiced up with green chilies and dipped in sweet chilli sauce. It’s also pretty versatile too. And the best bit, it doesn’t require any breadcrumbs or frying!
I’ve detailed some additional ingredient variations below too so you can mix it up!
Here’s a quick and dirty lowdown…
Ingredients for easy breadcrumb-free no—fry fishcake recipe
- 1 tin tuna (in spring water instead of brine for low-salt, kid friendly option)
- Approximately 3 medium potatoes, diced
- 1/3 carrot, grated
- 1 spring onion finely chopped
- Squeeze of lime
- Green chilli finely diced
- Coriander finely chopped
- Sweet corn
- Diced white onion
- Diced red onion
- Grated cheese
- Chilli flakes
Method for easy breadcrumb-free fishcake recipe (no-frying required):
Combine potatoes with all other ingredients, then form into small patties
On a tawa / chapati pan (if you don’t have one just use a frying pan with a tsp of sunflower oil), cook the fish over a medium heat, turning over frequently to ensure the fishcakes don’t stick to the pan.
Once browned on both sides, serve.
It’s a easy as that!
