Easy gluten-free fishcake recipe that involves no frying!
This gluten-free fishcake recipe saves so much time and effort and requires minimal basic ingredients. This fishcake is breadcrumb free and doesn’t need frying.
I first came up with it when weaning my daughter and quickly realised it makes for a great grown-up snack too. Especially spiced up with green chilies and dipped in sweet chilli sauce. It’s also pretty versatile too. And the best bit, it doesn’t require any breadcrumbs or frying! If you’d like to try more easy toddler snacks, you might like my three ingredient potato cakes.

Here’s a quick and dirty lowdown…
Ingredients for easy -gluten free no—fry fishcake recipe
- 1 tin tuna (in spring water instead of brine for low-salt, kid friendly option)
- Approximately 3 medium potatoes, diced
- 1/3 carrot, grated
- 1 spring onion finely chopped
- Squeeze of lime
Additional extras for gluten free fishcake recipe
- Green chilli finely diced
- Coriander finely chopped
- Sweet corn
- Diced white onion
- Diced red onion
- Grated cheese
- Chilli flakes
Combine potatoes with all other ingredients, then form into small patties
On a tawa / chapati pan (if you don’t have one just use a frying pan with a tsp of sunflower oil), cook the fish over a medium heat, turning over frequently to ensure the fishcakes don’t stick to the pan.
Once browned on both sides, serve.
