Afternoon tea at the Tea Terrace House of Fraser, London

Now don’t get me wrong, but I had a certain perception of department store restaurants. Mainly I thought they were more like school canteens, where you queue up with a tray for your dinner to be ladled on.

This is still the case with many department stores. And don’t get me wrong, they are fab. I’ve been partial to a macaroni cheese bake at BHS, before it sadly shut down.

However, by chance I visited the Tea Terrace, which is a tea room located at premium House of Fraser stores, and boy is it pretty!

With Cinderella carriages, Mad Hatter-esque high chairs and the cutest China, the Tea Terrace really is a great place to stop once you’ve shopped. And with table service, there’s not a dinner tray in sight.
