The Rana Plaza factory building collapse in Bangladesh is one of the worst industrial accidents seen in history.  People are left without fathers, sons, sisters, brothers – one picture reportedly showed a husband and wife die in each other’s arms.
The pictures and reports are heartbreaking – but there is hope to come from this tragedy.  One woman was pulled from the rubble after 17 days, while other survivors are being treated for injuries.  And this is where we can help.

The BRAC (formerly Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee) are – like many other charities – supporting the relief efforts below, but also have the BRAC’s Limb and Brace Centres, which is preparing to provide treatment and counselling to amputee patients as well as their families to smooth transition to life with a prostheses.

This will make a big difference to the lives of those who have been dealt with such a cruel blow.  So many people are doing their bit to support the charity, such as donating the value of their ‘Primarni’ wardrobe, so I’ve decided to hold a blog sale to raise money too.

Blog sale for Rana Plaza victims – how it works

  • I’m selling a number of skincare and beauty products on my blog, many of which are brand new (and donated to the cause by some very generous brands), and some are barely used.  From Max Factor to Arbonne to St Ives, there’ll be something for you.
  • I will try and sell all products cheaper than the RRP, but please bear in mind that as it’s for charity, I won’t want set too low a price.  Also, if you would like to donate more than the asking price, even better.
  • If there’s a product you like, just drop me an email at [email protected] stating your intention to buy.  I’ll offer you some postage options (first, second or recorded delivery) and estimate a postage cost for you.
  • Once you’ve paid via paypal, I’ll post out your item (I’ll warn you in advance if there are any delays) and transfer the cost of the product onto the Justgiving page with your name or a message of your choice.
  • All proceeds will go to my recently set-up Justgiving page – http://www.justgiving.com/Halima-Khatunblog – which will feed directly into the charity.

Also, a few more simple rules…

Paypal only.

Items will be dispatched once payment has been received.

I can take no responsibility for items lost in the post.  If you want to guarantee delivery, you have the option to pay for guaranteed / recorded / special delivery.
I can also take no responsibility for items damaged in the post, but I will do my best to package to avoid this happening.

All items are sold as seen.  Where they have been used, I will state this.
International deliveries will be possible and I’ll estimate postage prices for you.  Please also bear in mind custom costs in your country.

Finally, thanks in advance for supporting this cause.  Remember, small donations can make a big difference to the lives of these people.
